good old and cheerful hotel located in a brilliant area really close to the beach, which was much more touristy as well as the center of the city than near the beach, which was much more touristy. efficient and excellent staff, airy room with shared bathroom.
Not very friendly staff!

The queen room had a well-laid-out bathroom and a bright fan, and we loved the nice design.

The room we stayed in was a decent size and had good natural light. 🌞 We had a shared bathroom, which was not a big deal. This place is conveniently located, just a short walk from the Cork Museum.

We stayed at Hostal L'Estrella for a few nights and it was a truly special experience. The location was perfect, just a few blocks from the town square. We loved being in the center of the city instead of the busy touristy beach area. The property was charming with plenty of outdoor seating options. Even though the bar and restaurant were closed during our visit, the breakfast was excellent, offering a simple yet beautifully laid out spread with a variety of options. The courtyard bar area had a great atmosphere, and despite it being a Friday night, we had a peaceful night's sleep.
Would recommend this hotel.

As a senior woman, I thoroughly enjoyed the unique decoration of the hotel. The charming moorish-style house with its original wooden roofs and beautiful gardens created a lovely atmosphere. The general areas were well-maintained and accessible for someone like me. It was easy to navigate around the hotel and I felt comfortable and safe throughout my stay.
It would have been even more perfect for senior people if there were more options available for activities catered specifically to our needs. It would have been nice to have some organized outings or events suitable for our age group.

The decor in this quaint little place was simply lovely. The antique furniture and original wooden roofs added a charming touch. The beautiful gardens were also a delight to stroll through. Plus, the hotel's easy accessibility made it perfect for senior guests like me, with everything conveniently located on the ground floor.
Just one small improvement I would have loved to see during my stay is a quieter atmosphere in the evenings. While I appreciated the lively bar downstairs and the live music, it did get a bit too loud for peaceful sleep at times.

Great location in a charming village just blocks from the town square. Beautifully tranquil central courtyard, even before the bar was open for the season. Simple and authentic building with spotlessly clean rooms. Easy parking in a large public car park located just two minutes away. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, upgrading us to an ensuite room at no extra cost.
The shutters and windows in the room seemed to be permanently closed, providing no natural light, but it did keep the room cool. At night, noise from the terrace could be heard in some of the rooms, making it difficult to sleep.
